Roland Meraner

Technical Office – Rubner Objektbau

Roland Meraner is an architect who has worked for the Rubner Group for 11 years.

Roland Meraner began working with Rubner as an intern in 2003, followed by 7 years at the Chienes plant: initially in production and then in the technical office. In 2010, he decided to widen his work experience by taking on large “turnkey” projects, and began working in the technical office of the Rubner Group's General Contractor company. Over the last 4 years, this has allowed him to work on both Italian and foreign projects.

Rubner is a reference point in the field of wood working, and has divided its activities into five strategic sectors: wood industry, wooden structures, large turnkey projects, wooden houses, and wooden doors. Born from a water-powered sawmill in Chienes, it is now known throughout the world and employs around 1,500 people. This is why the family-run Rubner Group today is one of the main European companies working in the timber construction sector.

Roland's father also works for this family-run entrepreneurial Group; so, it was natural for him to work for the same Company, as he shares his father's “passion for wood”.

Meraner is enjoying the project for our “CL1-East” Pavilions for the 2015 Milan Expo because it is a “challenge” both in terms of the time available and in terms of the complexity of managing the same. He is proud to be part of the team that is managing this large project, of national importance. For this project in particular, he is responsible for the administrative process, as the Si.G.Expo assistant for planning, accounting and management.

Roland is a true sportsman and as such loves to spend his free time playing football, climbing, and hiking in the mountains.
