Stefan Knollseisen

Technical Director - Rubner Objektbau

All of Rubner's know-how comes to fruition through the creation of "turnkey" timber buildings, personalised in accordance with the customer's needs, in particular for structures that require notable project management.

To that end, today we want to talk about the Technical Director responsible for all of that: engineer Stefan Knollseisen.

Engineer Stefan Knollseisen has been with Rubner since 2007 and, from the start, has been confronted with very difficult jobs where coordination was crucial. As an example, taken from a long list, he created a new university residence (3,500 m³) in just 87 days (from the preliminary design to execution), following a disastrous event. Not only was the structure compliant with all regulations in force, but it was also an exemplary piece of architecture in terms of lightness, sustainability, safety and aesthetic harmony with both the landscape and the city.

For the work of our "CL1-East" Pavilions at the 2015 Milan Expo, he is coordinating the design team and its general set-up. He is pleased to take on this task, as he is aware of the international effects it will have.

When we talk with Stefan, the concept of “family” comes up often:
• “family tradition”: his father worked for Rubner and this gives Stefan great pride and an additional incentive to continue to achieve new objectives within the Company;
• “group with a long family tradition” working for the General Contractor Company of the Rubner Group means being a fundamental part of a group that is a European leader in the creation of large “turnkey” projects;
• “family” is Stefan's free time. Whenever his work commitments allow him to, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones and on his passion: tennis.
